What is Homeopathy and How Does It Work?
In today’s fast-paced world, more people are turning toward natural and holistic approaches to health. One such system that has stood the test of time is homoeopathy, a gentle yet widely discussed form of alternative medicine.
Homoeopathy was developed in the late 18th century by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, who introduced a fundamentally different way of understanding illness and healing. Instead of focusing only on symptoms, homoeopathy views the body as an interconnected system where physical, emotional and mental health are deeply linked.
At its core, homeopathy is based on the principle of “like cures like.” This means that a substance capable of producing symptoms in a healthy person may help relieve similar symptoms in someone who is ill when given in a highly diluted form.
Another key idea is the minimum dose principle. Homeopathic remedies are prepared through a process of repeated dilution and shaking, with the intention of stimulating the body’s natural healing response without causing harm.
Unlike conventional approaches where the same diagnosis often leads to the same treatment, homeopathy emphasizes individualized care. For example, two people suffering from Migraine or Allergies might receive entirely different remedies depending on their unique symptoms, lifestyle, and emotional state.
Rather than directly targeting disease, homeopathy aims to support the body’s internal balance often referred to as the “vital force” helping it restore itself naturally.
